MongoDB Database Primer Tutorial<\/p><\/div>\n

In I.T. there are the questions of the What, the How, the Where, the Why, the Who … and the whoooooooo are you, who who, who whooooooo.<\/p>\n

We often concern ourselves with the How to the cost of the What, and that can lead to a poor result sometimes, because, after all, isn’t it the quality of your data, and what you do with it, that distinguishes your end result?<\/p>\n

So, what about “the How of the What” to get a more balanced feel. So the data is what is important and the interface to that data is crucial … makes sense. Today we introduce ourselves (though many of you may already have introduced yourself … perhaps with “G’day Mungers!<\/i> Mongo D.B. to you, matey.<\/i><\/b>“) to MongoDB, a database software that doesn’t have to use SQL. Whaaaaaaat? Yes, a database software that doesn’t have to use the Structured Query Language. (That’s much better. Yeh, no worries.)<\/p>\n

MongoDB interfaces to Javascript and a first look at it was impressive to me regarding ease of use. This introductory view does not delve into performance issues, and security issues, which are big factors in assessing database strengths and weaknesses. We’ll try to revisit this great product.<\/p>\n
