To be clear, it’s been on our list of “to does” for quite some time now, nagging away at us as the “northerly grey nomads” of our web browser experience …<\/p>\n

… worked on via the great Gimp<\/a> image editor “Exported As…” a “Microsoft Windows Icon” *.ico file and (not shown) sftp’ed over to the RJM Programming domain’s Apache web server’s Document Root as a file called favicon.ico to call into play that little bit of logo based colour into the web browser minimization icons you start to see with …<\/p>\n

… with the “broad brush” steps …<\/p>\n

  1. we could have done it in Gimp but we are just so used to doing it in Mac Paintbrush … we … opened the logo file in Paintbrush and used Image -> Image Size… -> select Pixels and set to width and height of 16 pixels (as for the size of old grey favicon.ico we already had up at the web server) … File -> Save As… -> PNG named favicon.png<\/li>\n
  2. opened Gimp and File -> Open … favicon.png (16×16)<\/li>\n
  3. File -> Export As… -> “Microsoft Windows Icon” *.ico file named favicon.ico<\/li>\n
  4. used FileZilla to sftp this file over to the RJM Programming Apache web server’s Document Root folder, effectively clobbering old <\/img> with the new <\/img><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    … many of the steps of which can also be checked out with today’s “stream of consciousness” animated GIF presentation<\/a> for your perusal, or upwards eyeballing!<\/p>\n
