OpenOffice and LibreOffice Page Orientation Tutorial<\/p><\/div>\n

People used to Microsoft Office<\/a>‘s Word will be used to seeing the Portrait versus Landscape decision about their documents in the File menu’s Page Setup dialog box.<\/p>\n

That’s me, so when a student asked about how to do this in OpenOffice<\/a> flummox period ensued. This was on a Windows 7 laptop, so it being the end of the lesson I promised the student we’d have an answer next lesson. So at home tried a document on LibreOffice<\/a>, that other “so similar to OpenOffice” alternative to Microsoft Word, and lo and behold, the same flummox period ensued.<\/p>\n

So looked up good ol’ Google and got to this very useful webpage<\/a> that pointed out that for OpenOffice, and then found it there too for LibreOffice, that functionality can be found at …<\/p>\n

… and (second) lo and behold, there it was in its gleaming brilliance, the Portrait versus Landscape radio button so many of us are familiar with.<\/p>\n

This can be set before starting to really write the document or at any time after that, perhaps for some Printing format requirement or reason.<\/p>\n
