She has been enthralled by the &#8220;Camera&#8221; iPad desktop app, and who wouldn&#8217;t be?  It&#8217;s fabulous, but I&#8217;ve run into the same issue we are going to outline below, which helped ME, help HER.<\/p>\n<p>She came in with her iPad explaining how she was stuck not being able to take any more Photos with her &#8220;Camera&#8221; app.  (Uh huh?  Already had an inkling of a notion.)<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nAre you getting any error messages?\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> &#8230; this is worth asking, but the chances of a really succinct and definitive answer from most people on Earth is unlikely &#8230; <i>&#8220;so that&#8217;s why Matt Damon is heading <a target=_blank title='? information from Wikipedia ... thanks' href='https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Martian_(film)'>WHERE<\/a>?&#8221;<\/i> &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>But in the answer was the word &#8220;full&#8221;.  (Uh huh huh!)<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nCan you show me your recent holiday snaps?\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> &#8230; yup &#8230; in the iPad &#8220;Photos&#8221; app &#8230; lots of beautiful flowers, so many of the same look, and these other earthy toned ones sort of brown and stony &#8230; yup &#8230; (Uh huh mmmmm!) &#8230;<\/p>\n<p> &#8230; and these little video camera symbols down the bottom &#8230; let&#8217;s hit this triangle &#8220;Play&#8221; button, shall we? &#8230; Yup &#8220;Funniest Home Videos&#8221; &#8230; and that is what happened, and has happened to me too &#8230;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>You start the &#8220;Camera&#8221; app on your iPad<\/li>\n<li>You hit the round start button on the right<\/li>\n<li>You repeat step 2 on many occasions, taking so many great shots!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p> &#8230; but, the whole time you&#8217;ve had the setting choice of &#8230;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Video<\/li>\n<li>Photo<\/li>\n<li>Square<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p> &#8230; on &#8220;Video&#8221; &#8230; oops.<\/p>\n<p>So in the &#8220;Photos&#8221; app of my student it was full of Videos of flowers and friends and soil samples, one soil sample Video being 1:30:09 long.<\/p>\n<p>Okay, so what is the remedy, in the &#8220;Photos&#8221; app?<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Touch on Video (ones with the little video camera symbol at bottom)<\/li>\n<li>As necessary, touch the &#8220;Play&#8221; button if you want to check out whether it should be kept &#8230; otherwise &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Touch the &#8220;Trash Can&#8221; icon at bottom right<\/li>\n<li>Touch &#8220;Delete Video?&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Touch &#8220;Moments&#8221; link to get back to the list of Photos and Videos, resuming at step 1, as necessary<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>So, what can you do to see that it doesn&#8217;t happen too often again?  Think, red button as alert, when capturing a &#8220;Video&#8221; with the &#8220;Camera&#8221; app.  It might be that that is what you want to do, but the button being red is reminding you that you have set the &#8220;Camera&#8221; app mode to &#8220;Video&#8221; rather than &#8220;Photo&#8221; or &#8220;Square&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>So please see our explanatory <a target=_blank href=\"http:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/Mac\/iPad\/full\/\" title='Click picture'>slideshow<\/a>, as necessary.<\/p>\n<p>If this was interesting you may be interested in <a title='Click here to see topics in which you might be interested' href='#d17884' onclick='var dv=document.getElementById(\"d17884\"); dv.innerHTML = \"&lt;iframe width=670 height=600 src=\" + \"https:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/tag\/ipad\" + \"&gt;&lt;\/iframe&gt;\"; dv.style.display = \"block\";'>this<\/a> too.<\/p>\n<div id='d17884' style='display: none; border-left: 2px solid green; border-top: 2px solid green;'><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To teach is amazing, as lots of teachers will tell you, for, at least, some of what I can think of, below &#8230; you never know what will happen next (even with a Lesson Plan &#8230; or maybe because there &hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/camera-and-photos-ipad-full-primer-tutorial\/\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[12,37],"tags":[89,91,183,626,630,795,1725,1239,1313,1319,1369],"class_list":["post-17884","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-elearning","category-tutorials","tag-app","tag-apple","tag-camera","tag-ios","tag-ipad","tag-mobile","tag-photos","tag-tablet","tag-troubleshooting","tag-tutorial","tag-video"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/17884"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=17884"}],"version-history":[{"count":10,"href":"https:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/17884\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":47447,"href":"https:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/17884\/revisions\/47447"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=17884"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=17884"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=17884"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
