{"id":15040,"date":"2015-05-26T05:01:33","date_gmt":"2015-05-25T19:01:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/?p=15040"},"modified":"2015-05-25T17:03:54","modified_gmt":"2015-05-25T07:03:54","slug":"gumtree-advertisement-using-android-phone-photos-tutorial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/gumtree-advertisement-using-android-phone-photos-tutorial\/","title":{"rendered":"Gumtree Advertisement using Android Phone Photos Tutorial"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 230px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a target=_blank href=\"https:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/gumtree.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:left; border: 15px solid pink;\" alt=\"Gumtree Advertisement using Android Phone Photos Tutorial\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rjmprogramming.com.au\/ITblog\/gumtree.jpg\" title=\"Gumtree Advertisement using Android Phone Photos Tutorial\"    \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gumtree Advertisement using Android Phone Photos Tutorial<\/p><\/div>\n<p>There are quite a few huge websites where you can sell goods, the biggest of which is probably <a target=_blank title='eBay' href='https:\/\/www.ebay.com'>eBay<\/a>, were you can sell or buy with a bidding system.<\/p>\n<p>Today, though, we&#8217;re using another big player, <a target=_blank title='Gumtree' href='http:\/\/www.gumtree.com'>Gumtree<\/a>, to post a free local advertisement.<\/p>\n<p>With Gumtree advertisements you are encouraged to post an image or a few of the product or service you are trying to sell, and today, for that, we imagine you take (perfect) photographs with your Android Mobile Phone.<\/p>\n<p>Went through these steps with a student, where we wanted to do the Gumtree advertisement on a laptop (or desktop) computer.<\/p>\n<p>Now you may know how Gumtree works on a mobile phone and not need to do the work on a laptop, and that is fine &#8230; we&#8217;ll colour all the possibly superfluous steps, that way, in green, below.<\/p>\n<p>There are three distinct phases to achieving this job &#8230;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Android Mobile Phone Camera and Photos Apps &#8230;<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Turn on the Android Mobile Phone &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Touch Camera app &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>(Take Photograph(s)) &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>At this stage you must be connected to the Internet and\/or have an active WiFi connection &#8230;<\/li>\n<li style='color: green;'>Touch Photos app &#8230;<\/li>\n<li style='color: green;'>Touch all the photographs relevant to future Gumtree advertisement &#8230;<\/li>\n<li style='color: green;'>Touch the Acute Angle icon to access all the Share methods available &#8230;<\/li>\n<li style='color: green;'>Touch the Email share method button &#8230;<\/li>\n<li style='color: green;'>Fill out Email To address of Email accessible on the laptop you intend using for the Gumtree advertisement creation &#8230;<\/li>\n<li style='color: green;'>Fill our Email Subject<\/li>\n<li style='color: green;'>Touch Send button (to send email, with photograph(s) attached).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li style='color: green;'>Laptop Email Attachment Download &#8230;<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li style='color: green;'>Over on laptop open a web browser of choice (eg. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera) &#8230;<\/li>\n<li style='color: green;'>Type into the address bar or derive via Favourites or Bookmarks the URL of a webmail service of interest (eg. <a target=_blank title='Gmail' href='https:\/\/\/www.gmail.com'>Gmail<\/a>, <a target=_blank title='HotMail' href='https:\/\/\/www.hotmail.com'>HotMail<\/a>, <a target=_blank title='Yahoo Mail' href='https:\/\/login.yahoo.com\/config\/mail?&#038;.src=ym&#038;.intl=au'>Yahoo Mail<\/a>, <a target=_blank title='Bigpond Webmail' href='http:\/\/webmail.bigpond.com\/webedge\/do\/oldlogin'>BigPond<\/a>) &#8230;<\/li>\n<li style='color: green;'>Login to Email address as used by Android Phone Photos App &#8230;<\/li>\n<li style='color: green;'>Open the Email message sent by the Android Phone &#8230;<\/li>\n<li style='color: green;'>Download all the attachments to your hard disk, the place by which we&#8217;ll refer to as the &#8220;download place&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Gumtree Advertisement Creation &#8230;<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Open a web browser of choice (eg. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera) &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Type into the address bar or derive via Favourites or Bookmarks the URL of <a target=_blank title='Gumtree' href='http:\/\/www.gumtree.com'>Gumtree<\/a> &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Click Sign In link &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Fill out the Gumtree username and password, then click the Sign In button &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Click the Post an Ad button &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Select a suitable group and any subcategories to describe the product or service you are selling &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Click I&#8217;m offering an item for sale at the last dropdown &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Fill out the product information and price and your details needed as a seller &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>In the Pictures section, for each attachment download of Android Phone pictures you created, click the + sign on the button and click to get to the &#8220;download place&#8221; and the image of interest there, clicking the Open button &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Click the Add Pictures button &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Click Post Ad button &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Click My Gumtree dropdown and click the Sign Out link.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ol>\n<p>As you can see, we hope, it is not that daunting a task to do.  Not on Gumtree?  If that&#8217;s the case, ahead of all the steps above &#8230;<\/p>\n<li>Gumtree Registration &#8230;<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Open a web browser of choice (eg. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera) &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Type into the address bar or derive via Favourites or Bookmarks the URL of <a target=_blank title='Gumtree' href='http:\/\/www.gumtree.com'>Gumtree<\/a> &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Click Register link &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Fill out all the fields &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Click the Register button &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Open a web browser of choice (eg. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera) &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Type into the address bar or derive via Favourites or Bookmarks the URL of a webmail service of interest (eg. <a target=_blank title='Gmail' href='https:\/\/\/www.gmail.com'>Gmail<\/a>, <a target=_blank title='HotMail' href='https:\/\/\/www.hotmail.com'>HotMail<\/a>, <a target=_blank title='Yahoo Mail' href='https:\/\/login.yahoo.com\/config\/mail?&#038;.src=ym&#038;.intl=au'>Yahoo Mail<\/a>, <a target=_blank title='Bigpond Webmail' href='http:\/\/webmail.bigpond.com\/webedge\/do\/oldlogin'>BigPond<\/a>) &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Login to Email address of Gumtree Registration &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Open the Email message sent by Gumtree Registration &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Click the link which finalizes registration with Gumtree.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Registration process functionality is similar on site after site after site on the web, so you may like to note this.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, if you&#8217;re selling, we hope you get some buyers, and the other way around as well.
